Healthcare Industry has become an important segment which contributes a major share in country’s GDP and has been growing very fast but human resource development for this rapidly advancing highly technical, dynamic, complex, manpower intensive industry dealing with human lives, has not taken place systematically. Shortage of trained manpower at all levels has been one of the major factors for compromise in quality patient care.
Media is daily highlighting cases of medical negligence, and cases in which Courts have passed strictures and granted compensation to patients for medical negligence. This is indicates that education and training in the field of hospital administration ie hospital operations management, quality management and medical audit is needed not only for highly trained clinicians but also for Health Care Administrators and paramedical staff in various positions.
If scarce hospital and health services resources are to be managed efficiently, effectively and equitably then Health Care Industry managers and leaders of today and tomorrow need to be trained in planning, organizing, equipping, human resource management, motivational techniques, hospital services designing, planning administration, hospital infection control, health care laws, rules and regulations, humanization of hospitals, hospital information services, medical audit, hospital accreditation system, preparation of Hospital Disaster plan, health care financing, medical tourism and management of International patient care, epidemiology, biostatistics, research methodology, implementation of national vertical health programme.
In due course of time ICRI Health will have global presence in health care related fields and known for academic excellence, state of art training and quality products ie Health Care Professionals and organisations.
